Mumbai, Oct 29: In a remarkable and inspiring journey, Shreyans Kumat, a young engineer who was enjoying a lucrative career at a well-known company following his graduation from IIT, chose to resign and pursue a career as an IAS officer. His outstanding All India Rank (AIR-4) in the UPSC examination is a testament to his determination.
Shreyans completed his BTech in mechanical engineering from IIT Mumbai, a feat that required two years of rigorous preparation for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) at Kota in order to secure admission to IIT. He was born in Kishangarh, Ajmer, Rajasthan.
Inspired by his grandfather, Shreyans decided to embark on the path of becoming an IAS officer. Despite having earned a handsome salary at Ernst & Young (EY) following the completion of his engineering degree, he felt a deep calling to fulfill his grandfather's dream.
After dedicating two years of his life to EY, Shreyans embarked on the challenging journey of preparing for the UPSC examination with unwavering commitment and focus. To the surprise of many, he achieved an AIR-4 ranking in his very first attempt.
