New Delhi, Aug 27: Team Anna and its supporters seem to be reaching the peak of their anger in the ongoing Anna Hazare fast campaign at the Ramlila gounds. The supporters on Friday August 26 insulted several MPs and political leaders who came to meet Anna Hazare.
On Friday evening, it was BJP leaders Ananth Kumar and Gopinath Munde's turn to face the heat. Not only were they driven out from Ramlila, but were subjected to shouts of 'Chor Chor..get lost Chors..". Incidentally, the person who led the protestors was Kiran bedi.
"These BJP members of parliament distrupted the session throughout the day on Friday, they dont want Jan Lokpal bill to be passed...they people are real chors," shouted Kiran Bedi.
Kiran Bedi on Friday afternoon also insulted a member of parliament by mocking him on the stage. Her behaviour received much criticism from political circles.
Popular award-winning bollywood actor Om Puri also joined Kiran Bedi on the stage and slammed politicians for delaying the Jan Lokpal bill and termed politicians as corrupt.
Puri said that Anna has become an international icon.
"Anna is not just a hero for India but a hero against injustice everywhere,” Puri said, referring to the massive surge of support to his anti-graft campaign.
Exiled Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin also visited the Ramlila Maidan.
