Mangalore: Emirates Paradela Awards Scholarships, with 'Tablets for Success'

Mangalore, Aug 27: Samanvaya in collaboration with Emirates Paradela Foundation, UAE distributed scholarships to 69 students along with conducting a seminar on 'A to Z Tablets for Success in Life' at Samanvaya, Urva Stores, here on Saturday August 27.

Superior of Anjela Convent, Bejai, Sr Mable D’Souza was the chief guest of the programme.

Samanvaya director Fr Ronald Coutinho conducted the seminar for the benefit of the students. He said that in order to be successful in life one should consider every angle of a given situation and should never give up under any circumstances. He added that family and friends are the real treasure troves and that in living everyday to the fullest along with being generous and responsible one can achieve the path of success.

The seminar was followed by a short stage programme. The lighting of the lamp was done by Sr Mable D'Souza, president of Emirates Paradela (EP) Herald Lobo, secretary of EP Bennett D'Mello, former president of EP Franklin D'Cunha, Allan D'Mello, Susan D'Mello, Predita D'Mello and managing trustee of Samavaya Fr Pius Fidelis Pinto.

Fr Pius welcomed the gathering and introduced the dignitaries on the dais. In his speech, Fr Pius stressed on the three D's namely duty, determination and dedication as the keys to achieving cent percent success in student life.

Sr Mabel in her address cited the example of Mother Teresa and said that Emirates Paradela has walked on her footsteps by working for a charitable cause in order to help the needy. She congratulated Emirates Paradela foundation and Samanvaya for their work. In her message to the students she called upon them to imbibe the lessons conveyed in the seminar in their lives and to reap rich fruits out of the education given to them.

Harold Lobo, in his message said that the students should let the '26 tablets' be a mind opener to them. He added that by getting good jobs and better prospects it would lead to the larger development of the society. The foundation hopes that the students complete their education and become good citizens of the country, he said, and added that Emirates Paradela had collected Rs 4 lac as scholarship among others for deserving candidates. Speaking about the foundation, he said that Emirates Paradela has so far worked for medical and social causes and will continue doing so.

Secretary of Emirates Paradela Bennett D'Mello delivered the vote of thanks.
