Mangaluru, Nov 10: MLA Vedavyas Kamath expressed his anguish at the Congress government and said that it has again begun its usual habit of obstructing festival mood of Deepavali by giving several lame excuses.
Kamath said, “The Congress creates unnecessary chaos during Deepavali by introducing rules in terms of bursting crackers. By this it wants to curtail the celebration of Hindu religious festivals in phases. The sudden implementation of rules that are seen during Hindu festivals are not implemented during festivals of other religions.
“Several new conditions are implemented to even open cracker shops in the districts. That too this time around permission is given to put stalls only Baikampady APMC grounds, central grounds, Pacchanady and Bondel. However, many areas do not have grounds at all. An appeal is sent to the deputy commissioner, city police commissioner, Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner and officials of fire service department to allow fire cracker stalls in more areas,” he said.
