Dubai, Nov 10: Dr Afreen Mubeen Sheikh, a native of Mangaluru, currently residing in UAE has won the prestigious 'SHE AWARDS', held in Dubai on November 5. She was honored with the prestigious award in the 'Doctor' category. 'SHE Awards' ceremony was conducted in Dubai for honoring women working in UAE from different nationalities and contributing to the cause of women empowerment.

On winning the award, Dr Afreen Sheikh thanked the Almighty God, her parents Sharfullah Sheikh, Mehtab Sheikh and husband Dr Mohammad Mubeen (Paediatric Intensivist) for continuous support and she says she would continue to strive for the cause of women empowerment. Dr Afreen completed her MBBS from K S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru and Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI).

Dr Afreen is a mentor and coach for foreign medical graduates seeking medical licensure in the UAE, she has become a guiding light for aspiring doctors. Her valuable guidance have helped numerous doctors navigate the complex process of obtaining their DHA licenses, opening doors to new opportunities and fulfilling medical careers in UAE. She's a women's health consultant in Mamahood, Dubai. Her expertise and guidance have empowered countless mothers to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. She has also successfully founded a women's modest fashion brand by name 'Hayaa by Afreen' in Dubai. Through her fashion line, she aims to inspire confidence and redefine modest fashion in the UAE.

She has a popular blog page by name 'The Whitecoat Mama' on Instagram , she uses the platform to raise awareness about women's health and Gulf medical exams. She's not only a respected medical professional and social media influencer but also a brand ambassador for several well renowned brands in the UAE. Dr Afreen's inspiring journey and her achievements were featured in a popular Dubai magazine 'Xpatzhub' in October.
