Beltangady, Nov 12: The lone tusker, initially seen at Navoor on Friday evening, covered a distance of nearly 15 km and was sighted near the Charmadi-Kanapadi forest route on Saturday evening.
Wandering through residential areas such as Indabettu, Maindadka, Ballalabettu, Hedya, and Kanarpa, the tusker crossed the road at Kadirudyavara and headed towards the forest.
During its journey, the tusker caused some damage to the coconut and plantain farm owned by Lizo Scaria in Kadirudyavara village.
Locals mention that this solitary tusker visits the area annually.
