Mumbai: 82-year-old Harryboy Launches Album of Konkani Hits

Mumbai, Aug 30: ‘Crystal’, an audio CD of Konkani hits by comedy king Harryboy was released by Fr Rocky Banz at Our Lady of Egypt Church, community hall, Kalina here on August 28.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Banz said, "Harryboy at the age of 82 is an inspiration to the youngsters to serve our mother tongue. We need to speak our mother tongue at home and pass the treasure to the next generation. Konkani is a great language," he said.

Ivan D’Souza, Benjamin Miranda, Rayan D'Souza and Ancy Paladka also spoke on the occasion.

The music album of 12 songs is dedicated to Helen D'Souza. The Song "Sasnacho Vishev Magtam" is dedicated to every Konkani artist, singers, writers who have left their mark on the field of music during their lifetime. Ivan Sequeira, Reena D'Souza, Clament Lobo, William DSouza, Robert Sequeira, Elina D'Souza, Royce Sequeira, Michael, Rohan DSouza have contributed their voices along with Harryboy. Benjamin Miranda has directed the music and the album is marketed by Rony Byndur.

Agnes D'Souza, wife of singer Jerome D'Souza, Benedicta Rebello, Denis D'Souza were also present at the dais.

William D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Clament Lobo compered the programme.

    Harryboy doesn't look like 83, but looks even younger than 38! May God grant him good health and long life. I have heard his very lively cd,, the song remembering the departed konkani artists is first time in history and a memorable tribute indeed.

    Wish this event was publicised a little more as I would have loved to attend.
