Kundapur: Two accidents at same spot in a day, two killed

Kundapura, Nov 16: Two bike riders were killed in separate accidents that took place at the same spot at Nandanavana Junction near Uppunda of Byndoor taluk on NH 66.

The deceased bike riders are identified as Kuppaiah and Subramanya.

In the first accident at around 1 pm on Wednesday Kuppaiah was riding his scooty with Chandra as pillion from Byndoor to Kundapura. As he was taking a right turn at Nandanavana Junction a Celerio car that was heading towards Kundapura from Byndoor hit his two wheeler.

Kuppaiah received grievous injuries and died on the way to hospital. Pillion rider Chandra is being treated at private hospital of Kundapura.

In the second accident that took place around 8.35 pm on Wednesday, Subramanya was going to Kundapura from Byndoor on his KTM bike. He overtook a tipper truck and without giving any indication he took a sudden right turn, lost balance and hit the tipper. Though he was rushed to hospital he succumbed and died.

Both cases have been registered with Byndoor police station.
