Bengaluru, Nov 17: A significant workshop on ‘Cybersecurity and Web Application Pen testing’ took place at Cambridge Institute of Technology here from November 8th to 10th, 2023. The event was sponsored by Cyseck and in collaboration with CyberSapiens, all under the auspices of the institution's Innovation Council, the Computer Society of India, and the CSI Bangalore chapter. Over 40 participants were in attendance.

The workshop offered participants a comprehensive exploration of cybersecurity essentials, the core principles of the field, various cybersecurity domains, and the phases of ethical hacking. Quizzes were conducted on the first day.

On the second day, the workshop focused on web applications, web application security, pen testing, and an overview of the OWASP Top 10, with a specific emphasis on SPF vulnerabilities. Quizzes were part of the programme.

The third day introduced participants to data security and the top five types of vulnerabilities, providing hands-on experiences and quizzes. The workshop concluded with a validation event and a feedback session, offering valuable insights. Participants learned to safeguard themselves and identify web application vulnerabilities, potentially paving the way for a career in cybersecurity.

Esteemed speakers, including Abdul Rameez, Fakruddin Rahif, and Harshitha Vijay Kumar, who are cybersecurity analysts from CyberSapiens, shared their extensive expertise. They equipped attendees with crucial skills for navigating the digital landscape securely and acquiring comprehensive knowledge in diverse aspects of cybersecurity. This empowered students to contemplate fulfilling and expansive careers in the realm of cybersecurity.
