Mangaluru: Homage to late senior Konkani litterateur Edwin D’Souza to be held on Nov 19

Mangaluru, Nov 17: Homage to late senior Konkani litterateur Edwin J F D’Souza, who got Kendra Sahitya Academy award for his novel ‘Kalen Bangaar’, will be held on November 19 at 10 am at Sanidhya auditorium of St Aloysius College.

The homage will be led by Konkani association of St Aloysius College (autonomous) and in coordination with Sahitya Academy, New Delhi, Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Shaktinagar, Michael D’Souza Vision Konkani and Raknno weekly newspaper.

Homage to late Edwin D’Souza will be paid by Dr Chandralekha D’Souza, retired HOD of Konkani department of Goa University and poet and writer Kishoor Barkoor, who translated work of Jnanapeeta award winner Konkani litterateur Damodar Mavzo to Kannada.

Fr Melwin Pinto, Neerude, HOD of Konkani department of St Aloysius College will offer honour to late Edwin D’Souza.

A publication by the Konkani department of St Aloysius College (autonomous) said that opportunity is given to Konkani literary organizations, students of Konkani literature and fans of Edwin J F D’Souza to participate in the programme and offer floral tribute.
