Neighbour Nuisance Robbing Britons of Their Peace

London, Aug 31 (IANS): Loud music, balls flying over the fence or noise-making children are some of the irritants that annoy Britons the most about their neighbours, a survey has found.

According to a research conducted by HSBC, people next door playing a loud instrument is a bugbear for 23 percent of Britons, while 20 percent say neighbours being nosey is the most irritating thing, Daily Express reported.

One in 10 finds others on their streets annoying for wanting to speak to them, while 20 percent are agitated over their neighbours parking in their favourite spots.

For nearly a third of the people, noise during early morning or late at night is their main grudge while one in six feels annoyed when those next door decide to throw a party.

When it comes to parking wars, those in the East Midlands are the most incensed, with 36 percent saying neighbours using their space is their biggest grievance.

Over 16 percent of people have brought up their complaints with neighbours. One in 10 has moaned about their grievance to another local instead. However, one in 20 has gone as far as calling the police, the survey found.
