Five Die in Pakistan Blast

Islamabad, Aug 31 (IANS): At least five people were killed and 13 wounded Wednesday in a powerful blast in Pakistan's southwest city of Quetta, a media report said.

Over ten cars were destroyed in the blast that occurred at about 9.50 a.m. Wednesday at a parking lot on the Alamdar road, Xinhua reported citing a TV report.

Police said it was a remote-controlled bomb attack. They have cordoned off the area for search of other possible bombs.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.

This is the first blast reported in Pakistan at the beginning of Eid, a festival celebrated by all Muslims after one month of fasting.
