Bhatkal: Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrated with Joy, Devotion

Bhatkal, Aug 31: People of Bhatkal celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with religious fervour and enthusiasm here on Wednesday August 31. Eid prayers were offered at all Juma Masajid following incessant rain from past few days in the town and the condition in Idgah was not suitable for Eid prayers.

This was the rare occasion when whole India celebrated Eid on the same day.

Moulana Abdul Bari Nadvi led the prayers at Jamia Masjid at 7:45 am. Moulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Nadvi at Khaleefa Masjid, Moulana Abdul Muheet Khateeb at Noor Masjid, Moulana Niyamatullah Askeri at Maghdoomia Masjid, Moulana Irfan S M at Millia Masjid and Moulana Sawood Nadvi delivered sermon at Madeena Masjid.

Later an Eid procession was carried out from Jamia Masjid and after passing through Khaleefa Jamia Masjid, Mohammed Ali Road, Chowk Bazar, Main Road, Old Bus Stand and Sultan Street, concluded at the same venue. On this occasion people exchanged Eid greetings and hugged each other.

Bhatkal DySP, M Narayan and Sevavahini president, Surendra Shanbhag along with others visited Bhatkal Jama Masjid and exchanged greetings with Muslim brethren.

Bhatkal police department has made adequate security arrangements outside all Namaz venues to prevent any untoward incidents.
