Muscat: Premiere show of Konkani Movie ‘Osmitay’ held in Salalah

Media Release

Muscat, Nov 18: After much awaited anticipation, the premier show of the Konkani film ‘Osmitay’ was held in Salalah, Oman; at the Cinepolis on November 17. The initiative taken by KCC members bore fruit as the excited Konkani community witnessed a historic event.

The excitement was palpable as the members began trickling in by 1.30 pm, though the show was planned at 2.30 pm. As soon as the passes were given out, the crowd began to discuss the storyline and the essence of the film only to be surprised at the end of the show to find it entirely different to some and partly different to others.

The show began exactly at 2.30 pm and the first fifteen minutes were hilariously exciting. The comedy combo of Alwyn Veigas and company and the seriousness with which the traditional wedding took place was fun to watch. People expected Nellu Permannur to compete with Alwyn in comedy roles but as Nellu turned a villain, it was a pleasant surprise.

The whole film was watched with a mixture of studied silence and excitement. At the end of the film, there was a lucky draw for the gold coin and it was won by Shaun Andrade. The lucky number was 13.

The office bearers of the Konkani Catholic Community Salalah thank Roshan Andrade and Roydon Castelino for organizing the event and the wholehearted response of the community members.

The Konkani Community also thanked the Konkani community of Muscat and Venture Entertainment for their support in organizing the show at Salalah.
