Mangaluru, Nov 24: Acting on definite tip-off that two people are selling prohibited MDMA narcotic to public at Muloor near Mudipu on the outskirts of the city, the CCB police raided and arrested two persons.
The arrested accused are Abdul Rahiman (42), a resident of Bolpade House, Kudthamugeru post, Koland, Bantwal and Mohammed Ziad (22), a resident of Jogibettu, Adavinabagilu House, Ilanthila post, Beltangady.
The accused purchased the confiscated MDMA from a foreign national in Bengaluru and were selling the same to students and public in the city.
The police confiscated 35 grams MDMA worth Rs 1.75 lac, a digital weighing scale, a car and mobile phones. The total value of the confiscated goods is Rs 4.95 lac.
Accused Abdul Rahiman carries cases in Beltangady, Bantwal rural, Padubidri and Uppinangady police stations of selling MDMA and rioting. Mohammed Ziad has one case of MDMA consumption registered against him in Uppinangady police station.
ACP P A Hegde led the operation and was assisted by officers and personnel of CCB.
