Ramanagara, Nov 24: JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has slammed the State Cabinet’s decision to withdraw the permission granted to CBI to investigate the disproportionate assets case against Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar as ‘’travesty of justice’’.
Speaking to media persons in Ramanagara, where he visited the striking advocates on Friday, Kumaraswamy said the Siddaramaiah Cabinet’s decision to withdraw the permission granted to CBI to probe against Shivakumar proves that the ‘’Congress government protects looters.’’
When the issue is pending before the courts, it is totally wrong to withdraw the permission granted to CBI and wondered how the chief minister, who himself was a practising advocate and even taught law can take such a decision which is blatantly wrong, he asked.
The JD(S) leader also attacked the government’s decision of transferring the AC Court in Ramanagara from the district headquarters to the taluk headquarters in Kanakapura and said he fully supports the striking advocates.
He also asked the government to immediately withdraw the transfer. "Instead of transferring the AC Court to Kanakapura, the government should establish AC courts to hear civil disputes in all taluk headquarters," he said and condemned the autocratic functioning of the government.
