Beltangady: Labourer electrocuted after aluminium ladder touches electricity wire

Beltangady, Nov 25: A labourer died as the aluminium ladder he was carrying came in contact with a live electricity wire in a farm at Mallarmady near Dharmasthala on Friday November 24.

The deceased is identified as Balakrishna Shetty (49), a resident of Mallarmadi.

He had been for work in the farm of local resident Bommanna Gowda. He was carrying the ladder in order to prune the leaves of trees.

Balakrishna was seriously injured due to the electric shock and died on the way to hospital. Mescom AEE Clement Benjamin Braggs, AE Suhas and supervisor Ashok visited the spot.

A case in this connection is registered in Dharmasthala police station.
