Mangaluru, Nov 25: Owner of two shops in Thokottu and one at Kuthar who were cheated by a man, have traced his identity. A case is filed in Ullal police station on Goods Muneer, a resident of Kasaba Bengre, who is accused in several cases.
Last October, a man wearing a helmet and lots of golden ornaments on his body introduced himself as Nitin Shetty and bought sweets and grocery items worth several thousand rupees from Iyengar Bakery and grocery shop owned by Poornima and said that his mobile phone is switched off so he cannot pay through UPI and will pay cash in a while. However, he did not turn up at all.
On November 13, the same person purchased a second hand mobile phone from Sudhi Collections situated at Pandit House of Kuthar. He cited the same reason of his mobile phone being switched off and inability to pay through UPI and gave his mobile phone number and promised of cash payment in a while. The mobile phone shop owner called the number provided by the man and it was switched off. The mobile shop owner came to know that the man has cheated him. He traced his mobile phone number and came to know that it belongs to infamous cheater ‘Goods Muneer’. Several cases are filed against Goods Muneer in various police stations of the city.
