Two Lynched in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sep 2 (IANS): Two criminals in Jharkhand were tied to trees and beaten to death by villagers, furious that the duo had tried to loot money and then fired at them, police said Friday.

The incident took place late Thursday in Bhagwanchak village of Godda district, around 550 km from here. Police said the two men tried to burgle a house but both were caught by villagers who tied them to trees and beat them with iron rods.

The villagers got more enraged when one of them fired at them, a police official said. Police visited the village Friday morning and sent the bodies for autopsy.
