Kundapur, Nov 28: It was a terrible tragedy involving great love and trust between a grandfather and his grandson. The grandfather and his grandson never left each other when they were at home. But as if an evil eye fell on them, within two-and-a-half hours of the grandfather's death due to old age, a heartbreaking incident took place in which the grandson died in a road accident.
Narayan Pujari was a retired teacher who lived in Shedimane in Kundapura taluk. His daughter's son Nishantha Pujari (23) was studying second year MBBS at Chamarajanagar Government Medical College.
Nishanth, who had come to the town only last week, had an examination on Monday and so he left for Chamarajanagar on Saturday evening. But unfortunately, Narayan teacher died of natural causes around 6 pm on Sunday.
On hearing the news of his grandfather's death, the grandson who was coming to Mysuru on his bike from Chamarajanagar to get back home soon died in a bike accident near Panyadahundi in Chamarajanagar taluk around 8:30 pm. It is said that people came to know about the accident after about three quarters of an hour as there were few vehicles on the highway.
Later, Nishant's mortal remains was brought to the his house in Shedimane on Monday. The bodies of grandfather and grandson were cremated along with the pyres set beside each other.
Both the grandfather and the grandson, who were very close to each other were united in death and the entire village gave a tearful adieu to both of them.
