Mangaluru: Low pressure in Bay of Bengal likely to intensify into cyclone

Mangaluru, Nov 29: There has been a drop in barometric pressure in the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to cause depression leading to cyclone likely on November 30.

The depression is centred at South Andaman and likely to proceed towards the Bay of Bengal. The meteorological department has stated that it might become severe and likely to reach Andhra Pradesh on December 5.

There might be heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu due to its effect. There might be light showers in some places in Karnataka.

Light showers were witnessed in Mundaje of Beltangady taluk, Kadirudyavara and various places of Chikkamagaluru district.

There was an atmosphere of sunshine and clouds at Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday. There was a little cold climate in village areas. The meteorological department has informed that there will be cloudy weather and moderate rains in the coast and south interior Karnataka for next two days.

The highest and lowest temperatures in Mangaluru on Tuesday were 34 degrees centigrade and 24.9 degree centigrade. The highest temperature is likely to increase while the lowest temperatures are likely to reduce in the days to come.

    i strictly instruct. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate department Bhupendra Yadav ji to immediately act before the cyclone approaches our shore and this is my order i demand immediately provide life jacket boat and food packets to the costal people of Grater Mangalore mainland Mangalore and lover Mangalore also seal our border with Kerala and Tamil Nadu to avoid relief material going to this Staes. School collage factory malls and shops to be remain closed until my next order. during this period i will be in constant touch with the National Center of Meteorology department
