Udupi, Nov 30: Union minister of state for agriculture Shobha Karandlaje expressed rage and accused the state Congress government of non-cooperating in organising the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
Shobha who spoke to mediapersons on Thursday November 30 said, “This is not a programme of the BJP. This involves conveying the schemes of the union government to the public. The Karnataka state government has ordered the deputy commissioners and the CEO of zilla panchayats not to participate in the event. This order is given verbally. The state government is playing politics in the development done by the union government. This is cheap politics. The state government has benefitted from the schemes of the union government. Why are they creating inconvenience to the public? Rs 4000 that was being given through Kisan Samman scheme is stopped. The state government is not ready to give the compensation given by the central government to the farmers.
“Siddaramaiah is playing politics in development. We condemn this. Our MLAs will oppose this in the state assembly. The officials of the state government are not the property of the Congress. Siddaramaiah is spewing venom among the government officers. He should give up cheap politics. Will he not come to the centre? Does he not require any cooperation? If the schemes of the central government have not reached people, then see that those are implemented. There is a need of cooperation in a federal system. Bank officers are reduced to the level of nodal officers. If the common people do not get the benefits of the central government, Siddaramaiah is the reason for the same,” she said.
Replying to the query on election results of various states, Shobha said, “We have no expectations from the elections. The Congress had distributed money throughout the country and in the same way, it was done by Siddaramaiah. People of some states might support us. The Congress has promised false guarantees and distributed money and liquor. Guarantees promised in the state have failed miserably. But people do not understand this fact. Now our concentration is on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Our message is Modi once again. Our aim is to get Modi government led by BJP in 2024.”
Responding to the issue of withdrawal of CBI probe against D K Shivakumar, Shobha said, “In Karnataka, we have given the keys in the hands of thieves. A team of thieves is in the state cabinet. They withdraw the cases and distribute the responsibilities. They gobble up the money and they collect the money. They distribute money to other states to conduct elections. It is not right to drop the CBI probe that was in an advanced stage. Many controversies have taken place. Lots of inquiries were done. Huge amount of money was spent. Withdrawing the case at the decisive stage is like protecting corrupt people. The Congress follows the policy of protecting the corrupt. I am confident that the judiciary and CBI will not permit this. Corrupt people will definitely be punished.”
