Mangaluru: JD(S) workers who are in favour of secularism can join Congress - Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru, Nov, 30: “The JD(S) has allied with the BJP. The secular JD(S) party workers who are in favour of secularism can join The Congress. The Congress will accept them. To save secularism, the JD(S) party workers in the district should join hands with the Congress,” said former minister B Ramanath Rai.

He was addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on Thursday November 30.

Rai further said, “Many JD(S) workers are unhappy. They can join the Congress to protect secularism in the country. It is essential that secular and likeminded people should come forward to save secularism and fight against the communal forces. All secular forces should work together to maintain harmony.”

He added that the state government led by Siddaramaiah has controlled moral policing in the district.

Former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, Congress leader Appi and others were present.
