Mangalore: Incessant Rains - Obstruction to Konkan Railway Continues

Mangalore, Sep 4: Due to persistent rains, Konkan Railway movements have gone haywire of late. In the route between Ratnagiri and Nivsar the train movement has become topsy-turvy owing to rain water, mudslide and slush.

12620 Mangalore Central – Lokamanya Tilak Matsyagandha Express train carried out its journey from the city on Saturday as usual. But 12133/12134 Mumbai CST- Mangalore Junction – Mumbai CST Express train was cancelled on the second day as well.

Bus Facility between Ratnagiri-Adavali

12617/12618 Ernakulam South- Nizamuddhin – Ernakulam South Express train passengers were sent in a bus between the route of Adavali-Ratnagiri by the Railway department. Thus travelling was made smooth for the commuters.

Route Change

Due to disruption created by the ceaseless rains, the usual routes of the trains were altered. 12998 Hapa-Tirunelveli Express, 16337 Hapa-Ernakulam South Express, 12223 Lokamanya Tilak- Ernakulam Duronto Express trains changed their normal routes and travelled via Panvel, Pune, Meeraj, Londa, Madagav routes.

    It is not new now. Konkan tract is really a miraculous railway track probably in the whole world. So certain set backs we have to face and go with it. Konkan railway is really giving a good service to the passengers to the best of their ability by providing buses, food to the stranded passengers. Bravo!
