Bantwal, Dec 2: The president of school supervisory committee assaulted a boy, student of primary grade, accusing him of stealing a bicycle. The boy was admitted to the hospital. This incident occurred under the limits of Punjalakatte police station on November 30.
Paramesha, president of the supervisory committee of primary school is the alleged accused. In the morning on November 28, accused Paramesha conducted inquiry of the boy who was accused of stealing the bicycle and beat him with small wooden stick and hands in the presence of boy’s mother. In the complaint, it is mentioned that school teachers Pramila and Ramesh instigated president Paramesha to beat the boy.

After beating the boy, it is said, Paramesha threatened not to reveal the assault to anyone or else he will get a case of bicycle theft slapped on him.
On November 30, the boy developed chest pain due to the assault on November 28 and he was admitted to the hospital. The police have registered a complaint under Juvenile Justice Act and are investigating further.
