Kuwait: ICS 'Parda Hai Parda' Set to Enchant Music Aficionados on Sep 9

Kuwait, Sep 4: Indian Cultural Society (ICS) will present ‘Parda Hai Parda’ with Munawwar Masoom and team at Kuwait Medical Association auditorium, beside Mubarak Al Kabeer Hospital, Jabriya on Friday September 9 at 7 pm.
After hosting memorable events such as ‘Mahakte Lamhe’ with Udit Narayan, Neha Chauhan and Trishna Mukharjee, ‘Dil Ki Awaaz’ with Kavita Krishnamurti and Bharti Singh, ‘Jashn e Bahara'n’ with Talat Aziz and famous poets, ‘Nazar Ke Samne’ with Kumar Sanu and Bali ‘Taal se Taal’ with Alka Yagnik, ‘Shaam e Sangeet’ with Hema Sardesai, ‘Shaam e Shibani’ with Shibani Kashyap Suroon- Ki-Shaam, Shaam-e-Ghazal, Geet and Ghazal Nite, Shab- e-Meraj, Jhoomte Sitare, Shaam-e-Ghalib with Kader Khan and many more, ICS is back with yet another show ‘Parda hai Parda’.
The grand event ‘Parda Hai Parda’ will be witness Qawwali, Filmi Qawwali, Ghazal and ever-green songs by Munawwar Massoom , Poonam Bhatia and special tabla by Surinder Singh.
The chief guest for the event will be ambassador of India, Kuwait and prominent personalities from Kuwait will grace the event as guests of honour.
Poonam Bhatia – Charmer with Live Audience
Poonam Bhatia realized her dream of becoming a playback singer by rendering voice to actors like Ravina Tandon, Shilpa Shetty, Twinkle Khanna, Juhi Chawala, Mayuri Cango, Suman Ranganathan, Aishwarya Rai among others. She sang for almost all the Bollywood music directors right from Anand Raj Anand, Viju Shah, Nadeem Shravan, Anu Malik, to the Legendry A R Rahman. She sure started her career as a playback singer, but after realizing that it was more fun interacting with the live audience, she slowly graduated to doing a lot of stage shows in India as well as all over the world.
Poonam is quite a charmer with live audience. Armed with her witty humors and sher-o-shayari, she is quite like a ‘one woman army’ on stage!! When she performs in mehfils, her audience is always left asking for more!!
Be it qawwalies, nostalgic bollywood hits, or the latest foot tapping bollywood numbers, Poonam never disappoints her admirers.
Surinder Singh – Versatile Tabla Player
Surinder Singh became famous Tabla Player from TV show Moover and Shekher, as icon of comedy. He has versatility in his Tabla playing which can be viewed on most of the famous TV channels like Sony, Zee, and Star Plus and so on. Surinder is most popular in Comedy Circus and Laughter Challenge shows.
Ustad Munawwar Masoom - Ace Ghazal, Geet and Qawwali Singer
Ustad Munawwar Masoom is a grandson of Ustad Abdul Ghafoor Khan from Mewat Gharana. When he was 9 years old, HMV Company recorded his first audio cassette “Tajdaar e Madina Khabar Lijiye” and from then on he did not look back.
He did playback in Raj Tilak’s film ‘Jivan Sathi’ and in the serial ‘Apna Ye Chaman’. Legendary Bollywood producer and director B R Chopra gave him the chance to do complete playback in the serial ‘Bahadur Shah Zafar’, which became popular among all sector. He sang in the Film ‘Khushboo’, ‘Jeevan Sathi’, ‘Belagam’( with Asha Bhosle), Malik Eik ( with Gulam Ali) and so on.
Munawwar Masoom is recognized as the first qawwal who launched his own album “Ashiqaana Qawwaliya” which gave him worldwide fame.
He was awarded by Zee Musical Award 2001 for the best lyrics “Maikaden bandh Karen lakh zamane wale”. Music Chart proudly put his name in top for lyrics “Kai Zala” (album Aatma).
Munawwar is one artist who has managed to prove his versatility in ghazal, geet and qawwali field and has enthralled and dazzled audiences from around the world with his stage performances, recordings and Playback singing for the past thirty years.
Almost all music company has worked with him and launched popular album and cassettes like: HMV (Mera Yaar Badalta Kyu Hai), VINUS (Mehbube Khuda), T-Series (Khwaja Ka Astana, Tajul Wara Ke Diwane) RMK (Diwana Mastana), PRESAM (Jaam Chhalkaw), MUSIC (Allah Tera Shukar Hai) and SANGEET (Qawwali Ki Raat) etc. He has sung the title songs of several popular serials like “Bolti Kahania’ “Apna Ye Chaman” “Idea Jalsa on Zee and DD National. Recently he sang with Jaspinder Narula for Idea Jalsa on Zee TV.
