Mangalore, Sep 5: ‘Kalaakul’ theatre repertory presented a Konkani play, ‘Vallu Jillu Jindabaad’ at Kalangann, Shaktinagar here  on Sunday September 4. The play was noteworthy because of its content, quality, and modernity.

The play revolves around the current day politics, which is immersed in corruption. It also shows how money, liquor and women along with omnipresent corruption dominate political activities and decisions. At the end, people revolt against the system, unable to bear the frustration borne out of these things.

‘Kalaakul’ artistes, Francis Moras, Melwin Pais, Riven Crasta, Viran Veigas, Roshni Goveas, Michell Crasta, Anil D’Souza, Jayaprakash D’Souza, Royson Monteiro, and Sunil Siddi, brought the play before the audience in a professional manner, and maintained the tempo of the theme throughout out. Impeccable acting and high quality presentation were the hall marks of the play.

The play is a Konkani adaptation of Dr Chandrashekhara Kambara’s Kannada play, ‘Samba Shiva Prahasana’, by Arun Raj Rodrigues. It was ably directed by Christopher D’Souza,  a Neenasam graduate.
