Bangalore: Another CBI Raid - This Time at Sriramulu's Residence

Bangalore, Sep 5: Barely an hour after former Karnataka minister, B Sriramulu, levelled charges of witch-hunting on the Congress party relating to Reddy Brothers of Bellary through raids conducted by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to settle scores for bringing BJP to power in Karnataka, CBI sleuths raided the residence of Sriramulu in Bangalore.

A CBI team led by additional superintendent of police, S S Girish, conducted the raid. The team is in the process of studying various documents and files found in the residence of Sriramulu located at Seven Ministers Quarters near Windsor Manor here.

Sriramulu, who has been very popular in north Karnataka because of his humanitarian activities, has been an avid supporter of Reddy Brothers, and has stood so in their hour of crisis and success. It is yet to be seen as to whether the CBI officials would be able to unearth any incriminating documents from his residence, taking into account his close proximity to Reddy Brothers.

    Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau is a govt agency in Singapore which investigates and prosecutes corruption in the public and private sectors. The anti-corruption law has since been reviewed regularly to ensure that offenders do not escape legal punishment and that corruption does not pay. The amendments to the law so far included: Empowering the court to order offenders to pay a penalty equal to the amount of bribe received apart from punishment in the form of fines and/or imprisonment term and investigators with wider powers rendering it unnecessary to prove that a person who accepted a bribe was in the position to carry out the required favour to order public officers under investigation to furnish sworn statements specifying properties belonging to them, their spouses and children empowering the public prosecutor to obtain information from the comptroller of income tax the court to admit wealth disproportionate to income as corroborative evidence the removal of the accomplice rule which views evidence of accomplice as unworthy of credit, unless corroborated rendering it a legal obligation to provide information required by investigators of the bureau and the citizens to be liable for punishment for corrupt offences committed outside Singapore and to be dealt with as if the offences had been committed in Singapore and creating a new seizable offence of knowingly giving false or misleading information.
    Now the corrupt Congress ministers should face the music.

    After one month Sriramalu got hurt from Lokayukta report and resigned. Why cant he speak the truth that he was expecting a ministreal birth in DVS Cabinet? I feel DVS will be relieved of his tension after Reddy got arrested. It's a blessing in disguise.
