Kundapura, Dec 5: A protest was held by the Kundapura Bar Association on Tuesday condemning the brutal attack on Pritam, a young lawyer of Chikkamagaluru by the sub-inspector of Chikkamagaluru city police station and other policemen.

The lawyers, who staged a protest in the court premises, demanded appropriate legal action to be taken against the guilty police officer and personnel.

Kundapura Bar Association president Bannadi Somnath Hegde led the protest. Speaking on the occasion, Somnath Hegde said, "The police and the lawyers are like two sides of the same coin. However, in the current era, police and lawyers are being attacked for various reasons across the state, and all the lawyers are shocked. We have already requested the government to implement a welfare committee for the benefit of the lawyers and demanded that immediate action be taken against the government and the guilty police against those who brutally attacked the young lawyer," he added.

All office-bearers of Kundapura Bar Association were present on the occasion.
