Bengaluru, Dec 6: Honest efforts to implement the Constitutional values and ideals are needed, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons after garlanding the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar in front of Vidhana Soudha to mark the 67th death anniversary of the architect of the Indian constitution, he said the greatest tribute to Dr Ambedkar is for everybody to understand the principles and ideals of the constitution.
“If Dr Ambedkar had lived a few years more, he would have spurred more struggles for ushering in equality and egalitarian society,’’ he said.
Social justice, equality and equal opportunities were the ideals for which Dr Ambedkar fought for in his life and said he was responsible if all citizens enjoy equal rights and freedom under law, he said.
The Chief Minister said the country’s wealth must be equally shared and all citizens must enjoy the fruits of power.
He lauded the Kannada film actor Dolly Dhanajay for agreeing to work as Ambassador of LIDKAR products for free during exhibitions and said the promotion of LIDKAR products will help the leather industry and cobblers.
The State Government has ordered a CID probe into the female foeticide and promised to take stringent action against the culprits after receiving the investigation report, the CM said.
Siddaramaiah said the new Telangana Chief Minister K Revant Reddy will be able to deliver on the promises during the elections and implement the 6 Guarantees.
