Success story: Choosing IAS over marriage, Abhilasha Abhinav secures top rank in UPSC

Daijiworld Media Network – Patna (MS)

Patna, Dec 18: Abhilasha Abhinav, hailing from Patna, faced a tough challenge in convincing her parents to prioritize her UPSC examinations over marriage. Eventually, she succeeded in winning them over and achieved a remarkable All India Rank (AIR) 18 in the 2017 UPSC examinations.

Having completed her B Tech from A S College of Maharashtra, Abhilasha excelled in both academics and sports since her primary schooling. She entered the workforce immediately after completing 12th grade with an impressive 84% and simultaneously began preparing for the UPSC. Her first attempt in 2014 ended in disappointment as she couldn't even clear the prelims.

Undeterred, Abhilasha persevered and made her second attempt in 2016, securing a rank of 308. However, she was not satisfied, as this rank limited her to the IRS service and not the IAS. She recommitted herself to intense study and emerged triumphant in the UPSC 2017 examination, securing AIR 18.

Abhilasha emphasizes the importance of utilizing time wisely during UPSC preparation. She encourages aspirants to focus on all three parts of the examination—Prelims, Mains, and the interview. According to her, starting preparations early is the key.

Staying committed with steadfast dedication is Abhilasha's mantra for cracking tough exams like UPSC, and she urges aspiring candidates to adopt the same approach.
