Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Dec 18: A bridge under construction in Jeppu collapsed on Monday, December 18, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

The collapse occurred during the slab construction work, which had been ongoing for the past six months. The Rs 50 crore worth project was undertaken by Vijay Infra Project Private Limited, Mumbai, serving as the contractor agency. The incident took place while applying the 11th load of concrete to the slab.

The contractor expressed, "I have been serving for the past 30 years, and this is the first time such an incident has occurred. The same agency is also responsible for the Padil underpass work."

Approximately 12 labourers were engaged in the slab work, and the three injured individuals fell when the structure collapsed.

The accident happened during the completion of the last slab.

The pictures posted of the debris depicts an extremely pitiable and despicable condition for a place (birth place of the world renowned civil engineer M Visheswaraya), which boasts of so many professional technical institutes (one above the other) rolling out engineering professionals by the 1000s going on to become techies......; this job perhaps could have been well handled by an expert practically trained and experienced supervisor type of person!! Better forget and get into the Xmas season mood...later New Year.....later Makar Sankranti etc etc and be in our own World..... and watch the latest Hindi movie to be released...."Dhunki"!!😜🙏

BJP's 80% corruption bridge collapsed. Andh Bhakths blame the contractor and others instead of blaming Taklya Bommbanna.

It is stated that the contractor has been serving since the past 30 years and this is the first incident and that he has also constructed the padil underpass.. if at all he has forgotten, let me remind again- while the padil underpass work was in progress, the bridge collapsed and two labourers has lost their life as well..

The contractor's contract need to be immediately nullified and a complaint of gross negligence should be filled against him and heavy compensation to the innocent gullible workers; 50cr of taxpayers is big money, OMG 😳 what's wrong with the system, going from bad to worse??
