Uttar Pradesh, Dec 19: Many IAS aspirants find it challenging to crack the toughest UPSC examination, even after two or three attempts, and this is often the case even with professional coaching. However, Arunraj stunned everyone by clearing it on his first attempt without any coaching.

Though Arunraj excelled academically from childhood and secured admission to IIT Kanpur, his true aspiration was to become an IAS officer. He began preparing for the UPSC exam during the final year of his engineering studies.

After completing his engineering degree, Arunraj chose not to pursue a job but instead invested his time in studying for the UPSC. Extensive use of NCERT books helped him grasp the fundamentals.

Arunraj also made effective use of online resources and attended numerous mock interviews. His dedication and hard work paid off when the UPSC results for 2014 were announced, with him securing AIR 34 in his very first attempt.

Currently serving as the executive director of ELCOT (Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited), Arunraj is a Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer from the 2015 batch.

Arunraj's success stands as a testament that one can crack the UPSC without any coaching, relying solely on grit and determination.
