By Luvena Rangel (The Curvy Yogi)

Bengaluru, Dec 19: Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) hosted a lavish 'Christmas Xtravaganza' for their members, family and friends at Anantya, Palace Grounds here on December 10. The exuberant arrangements and expansive space made for a splendid annual tradition that allows members to let their hair down and celebrate the festive spirit with their dear ones alongside their industry peers.

With an attendance of over 500 guests all dressed in red, white and green, Anantya was buzzing with joyful activity right from collecting the wrist bands from the registration desk to the walkway to the halls that were dotted with inflated snowmen, reindeer and candy canes! Members took the opportunity to display their products ranging from food, kuswar and homemade wines at stalls and a dedicated stage was set with skill-based and engaging carnival style games for the children throughout the evening within their parents’ view from the main hall.

In customary fashion, the gathering was welcomed with panache by the gregarious Alan Aranha who led the evening with the KE prayer. Within the flagship event, James Coelho, KE director membership took the opportunity to induct 24 new members who joined the community over the past two months. The oath taking was celebrated with a generous applause from a welcoming audience.

Getting the celebration going, a round of housie was played with much mirth and active concentration interspersed with the engaging number calling by the renowned Bosco Abraham. The attractive prize money left the players excited to participate and thrilled with their wins.

Alan segued into the entertainment segment by introducing the ever enthusiastic Carol Pereira who was ably supported by the spontaneous Luvena Rangel in a unique banter that narrated the Christmas spirit and story through speech as well as song. As it turned out, anything that Carol could say, Luvena had a song to match with.

While song won round one of the challenge, the KE GenNow team regaled everyone with a flash mob choreographed by Michelle Serrao and supported by Alan Aranha, Bryan Menezes, Carol Pereira, Cassius Pereira, Deon Gome and Rahul Alvares.

With the entertainment segment setting the tone of the evening, the dance floor was set on fire to many hours of riveting music by Mangaluru’s hottest band, Route 96. KE president Claudius Pereira was hands on throughout the evening overseeing arrangements as well as climbing on stage to draw members to lead dances and throw the spotlight on the party.

Santa Claus posed for pictures to the delight of children of all ages. The KE women entrepreneurs had arranged for goodie bags for the children that they collected from Santa’s grotto.

In short, the KE 'Christmas Xtravaganza' had something for everyone. Music that got everyone’s energy spent and a sumptuous buffet that satisfied the taste buds over merry conversations and new friendships forged. Members and their families were seen interacting with the genuine attitude of community, solidarity and friendship. It is not mean feat and the KE board of directors have demonstrated their total dedication and eye for detail and perfection in closing the year with a grand and fabulous blast that had everyone smiling from end to end.

KE also thanked its gracious sponsors for their support.
