Mangalore, Sep 8:
Talk of going to any extent for a bit of breaking news, and that too at the expense of a celebrity. Sandalwood actor Deepak, who is in Thailand on a shooting assignment, was quite shocked to hear Kannada channels back here declare him dead!

Kannada news channels on Thursday September 8 flashed the 'news' that Deepak had met with an water boat accident in Pattaya, Thailand and passed away, creating shock and much tension among his fans.

Channels like TV9, Suvarna News, and Samaya TV reported that Deepak had met his end while shooting a stunt scene. Deepak later spoke to a channel and informed that though there had been an accident while he was doing an action scene off the beach, he swam and escaped as he was wearing a life jacket.

Deepak and his team are in Thailand shooting for the movie ‘Magadi’. He has acted in the Kannada movie ‘Shishya’ and is a resident of Vijaynagar in Bangalore. Deepak debuted in the 2006 and ‘M agadi’ is his 9th movie.

While shooting the scene, Deepak ventured far out and when attempting to turn towards the shore, his boat capsized and the whole team believed that he was dead. They also called a few people in Bangalore and spread the news without confirming it.

His mother was in tears after hearing the false news flashed on TV channels. It is learnt that Deepak first contacted his mother and consoled her. "I know now how it is to come back to life. I have two more days to shoot here and complete the shooting. I will take rest tomorrow and then shoot for the remaining portions," said Deepak in a conversation with TV9. He said that he would be back in Bangalore in four days.

‘Magadi’ is the joint production of Ba Ma Harish and his brother Divakar. The story is from Suresh Goswami and it is said that the film is based on a true incident.
