Udupi, Dec 20: Vishwaprasanna Theertha Sripada of Pejawar Math and trustee of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi temple, expressed the need for the liberation of holy cities Mathura, Kashi, and Ayodhya, drawing parallels to Mecca for Muslims and Jerusalem for Christians. He asserted that after 75 years of independence, these sacred centers should be granted the freedom they deserve.
Pejawar seer welcomed the favourable judgments in the cases of Kashi and Mathura, echoing the sentiments expressed during the Ayodhya case. He emphasized that the campaign for their freedom should persist until these religious centers attain redemption. He clarified that the demand is not about acquiring the centers by force but seeks their rightful ownership under the constitution.
Highlighting Karnataka's contribution to the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Pejawar seer mentioned the involvement of people from Karnataka, the use of stones from the state, and the significant role of engineers and supervisors. He called for a similar campaign for the freedom of Mathura, urging Hindus to unite for the cause.
Addressing concerns about the Ram Mandir's future, Pejawar seer dismissed statements suggesting the demolition of the temple, emphasizing that it stands as a result of a century-long campaign. He urged people to focus on the ideals of 'Ram Rajya' and suggested curbing unnecessary expenditure, redirecting resources to construct homes for the shelter-less. Pejawar seer called for unity in the campaign for housing, akin to the collaborative effort for the Ram Mandir.
