Lucknow, Sep 8: The ruling  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Thursday suspended former dairy development minister Awadhpal Singh Yadav from the party. The action came after Yadav move a writ application before the Lucknow Bench of the Lucknow High Court with a submission that he was compelled to resign.

His submission before the court did not go down well with the party supremo and Chief Minister Mayawati. State president, Swami Prasad Maurya issued his suspension orders.

Earlier Yadav was indicted by the Lokayukta on August 16 for charges of land grabbing and awarding contracts to his son. He subsequently resigned on August 17 following pressure from the opposition. He cited moral grounds for tendering his resignation. However, he moved an application before the court challenging the Lokayukta's order and submitted that he was compelled to resign. BSP thereafter suspended him from the party further increasing his agony.
