Kundapur, Dec 21: In a heart-wrenching incident, a seventh-grade student took her own life by jumping into a well on Wednesday evening near Bobbarya temple, close to Koni under the jurisdiction of Kundapur police station.
The deceased, identified as Rishita, was the daughter of Rajasekhara, a resident of Koni.
Rishita had been grappling with mental depression for the past four months, seeking treatment at a hospital in Kundapur since September.
On Wednesday evening, after returning home, she left her bag and headed towards Bobbarya temple. When she did not return after some time, a search was conducted, revealing the tragic discovery of her lifeless body in a nearby well.
The Kundapur police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
