Mangaluru, Dec 22: The Karnataka Wine Board, in collaboration with Rathna's Wine Gate, inaugurated a Wine Festival on Thursday, December 21, at the Rathna's Wine Gate outlet in City Square here.
This wine festival promises an exhibition, tastings, and the sale of the finest wines, featuring global flavours and aromatic charm. The festival is scheduled to take place from December 21 to 24.
Notable personalities present at the event included Ivan D'Souza, former MLC; Rohan Monteiro, managing director of Rohan Corporation; Naushad, owner of Shads Music; and Ramesh Nayak and Sudhakar Nayak, owners of Wine Gate.
During the event, Ivan D'Souza expressed, "During the Christmas and New Year season, Wine Gate has organized this wonderful wine festival, which is fantastic news for everyone. I believe Wine Gate doesn't just benefit from organizing such events; it genuinely helps people access high-quality wine. Wine is a product of farmers' hard work; they grow grapes, which are then turned into wine. In the past, we used to organize similar programs near Kadri Park, and they were highly successful. This is the ideal time for such initiatives, and this program will greatly support many farmers."
Addressing the significance of such events, Rohan Monteiro remarked, "From December 21 to 24, Wine Gate has organized this wine festival, and I hope this programme attains great success. When making a purchase, let's not only consider consumption but also think about supporting farmers and enjoying the grape juice. This way, we can contribute to strengthening the farmers of our country."
In his speech, Ramesh Nayak celebrated the commencement of the wine festival, stating, "Today is a momentous day, and we have initiated the wine festival. This festival was possible thanks to Ivan sir and the support of all wine distilleries, making it a resounding success."
Many noted personalities namely Congress leader Mithun Rai, Daijiworld media managing director Walter Nandalike mong others visited the event.
