Mangaluru: Sauharda Christmas Sambhrama held at Shaktinagar

Mangaluru, Dec 22: Santa Maria Vichara Vedike, Mother of God church Mariagiri, CODP organization, Jnanadeepa Mahila Mandali, Jyothi Sreeshakti Sangha, Deepa Friends club, Shakti Friends club, Padavu Friends club and Vidyadeevige educational charitable trust jointly organized Sauharda Christmas Sambhrama at Shaktinagar, with the motto ‘Preeti Haradali’ (May love spread).

Mother of God Church parish priest Fr Jerald D'Souza who inaugurated the event said that the message of peace and love to the world by Jesus Christ is conducive even today. "Human values can be upheld currently when there is no value to human relationships only when people of all religions unite and celebrate their festivals together," he opined.

Veteran thinker, retired principal Dr Vasanth Kumar said that we should work hard to spread love in the land filled with hatred. "Our lives will be lively by the spread of love and peace. May the Sauharda Christmas program begin to join hearts,” he said.

President of Mother Theresa Vichara Vedike, Roy Castelino who presided over the program said that everyone should join hands to build bridges between minds against anti-social forces that spoil harmony in the society. "The preservation of the glorious heritage of the nation is possible only if all the citizens celebrate festivals of all the religions together without confining them to a particular religion," he said.

CODP organization priest Fr Vincent D'Souza, local corporator Kishore Kothari and Vanita Prasad spoke conveying their wishes. Santa Mother Thresa Vichara Vedike chief secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal gave a keynote address.

Heads of various organizations, Fr Sudeep Paul, Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes, Prakash Gatti, Devananda, Mary Pinto and others were present.

Pushpa B Shetty who worked as Anganwadi activist for a long time and Nalyapadav school headmistress in charge Dakshayini Veeresh who worked uninterrupted for the growth of the school were felicitated.

Young advocate Manoj Vamanjoor compared the entire programme. Program convener Ronald Tony Pinto welcomed. Anganwadi teacher Pushpa Shetty proposed a vote of thanks.
