Udupi, Dec 23: The department of labour has launched an accident compensation and medical facilities scheme for daily newspaper delivery staff. The staff who have joined the scheme under eShram portal are able to make use of the scheme.

Newspaper delivery staff between the age of 16 and 59 who have not got their name registered as newspaper boy under www.eshram.gov.in can do so on their own or at the nearest Seva Kendra immediately.

Special eShram registration camps will be held in the district at the district labour department office on December 28th and December 30 and at the offices of the labour officer at Kundapur and Karkala taluks on January 3rd. A press release from the district labour authority calls on the staff to participate in the camp and make use of the facilities. Further details can be obtained over helpline number 155214 available round the clock or at the office of the senior labour officer or the office of labour inspector.
