Mangaluru: Dharma Jyothi Social Centre celebrates heartwarming Christmas Day celebration

Mangaluru, Dec 23: Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organized a heartwarming Christmas Day celebration for all the sponsored children on December 17 at Vidya Jyothi School premises. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including president Sr Leena, provincial of SRA, and chief guest Fr Jerald Lobo, St Ann’s Friary, Bejai, Sr Severin Menezes, counsellor and superior of St Ann’s Providence, Mulki along with Sr Annie, headmistress of St Joseph the Worker Higher Primary School, circle inspector Johnson Kiran D'Souza and Denis Mascarenhas, president of Vidya Jeevan Amruth Trust, Paldane added to the dignified presence. Fr Jerald Lobo inaugurated the programme

The programme commenced with a prayer dance by Vidya Jyothi School children, followed by a captivating welcome dance by St Joseph the Worker Higher Primary School children. Sr Severin, as the resource person, delivered an insightful talk on parenting.

The spirit of Christmas was beautifully portrayed through a Christmas tableau presented by Vidya Jyothi School children. Sr Joel Lasrado, the coordinator of Dharma Jyothi, extended a warm welcome to the guests. The 10th, 2nd PUC and degree students who have scored distinction in the final exams were honoured during the programme.

Usha and Neetha compered the event and Sunitha proposed vote of thanks.

As many a s 1500 people participated in the programme. A sumptuous meal was served to all. After the programme there was Christmas gift distribution for all the sponsored children.
