Udupi: Adani Foundation flags off rural infrastructure development works at Yellur village

Udupi, Dec 23: Infrastructure development works worth Rs 15 lac was kick-started in the limits of Yellur gram panchayat in Udupi district, under the CSR grant of Adani Foundation, a CSR wing of Adani Group, the group which is operating a thermal power plant in Yellur village. The concreting work of village road from Bellibettu to Aalade was got kickstarted by way of Bhoomi Pooja by Kishore Alva, executive director and president of Adani Group and Raviraj Rao, president of Yellur gram panchayat.

Based on the demand by the Aalade villagers to Yellur gram panchayat to develop the mud, kachcha road from Bellibettu to Aalade to overcome the difficulties of pedestrians and vehicle riders on this road, the GP has conveyed a general meeting and submitted a Kriya Yojana (Action plan) to Adani Foundation to consider concreting the above kachcha road in the present FY 2023-24. Accordingly, Adani Foundation has considered taking-up the work of concreting of nearly 150 meters length kachha road under its CSR incurring a project cost of Rs 15 lac, Kishore Alva said on the occasion. Further he informed that as against the committed CSR grant for infrastructure development works of Rs 3.75 crores in Yellur village, so far Adani Foundation has taken-up the works worth Rs 2.89 crore in addition to the other social development works under education, health and drinking water projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Raviraj Rao, president of Yellur gram panchayat, informed that Yellur and surrounding villages are witnessing the development works being executed by Adani Foundation. He expressed happiness on the contributions made by Adani Group for the upliftment of the society under various heads and informed that Adani Group has proved the development of villages with the industrial development.

N Usha, vice president of Yellur gram panchayat, Harish Moolya, member of Yellur gram panchayat, local residents, Raghavendra Shetty, contractor and Ravi R Jere, AGM of Adani group and Anudeep from Adani Foundation, were present on the occasion.
