New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS): The government Friday rebutted main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party's accusations that the "centre was not doing enough to check terror attacks".

"I regret the statements made by the two BJP leaders when people have died in the Delhi High Court blast and their families are suffering," Home Minister P. Chidambaram said, referring to the statements made by Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, the leaders of opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

Cornering the government on several fronts, including price rise, corruption and terrorism, Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj earlier in the day said the government was suffering from "internal conflict" and this was affecting its actions.

"No one can say there will be no terror attack tomorrow," Chidambaram said.

"There is an internal conflict in the government," Jaitley said, a day after both houses of parliament adjourned at the end of the monsoon session.

He said it was not in the DNA of the BJP to be non-partisan, a spirit the party had shown two days ago, on the day of the blast.

Accusing the BJP, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said, "out of the 145 hours of house sittings, around 66 hours were wasted" as the BJP members "disrupted the proceedings on some pretext or the other".

"It is sad that they rushed to the well of the house and raises slogans just to disrupt the question hour, which is an essential part of democracy," said Bansal.
