Mangaluru, Dec 28: In a significant breakthrough, the Dharmasthala police have successfully apprehended an accused who had been on the run for eight years, evading court hearings in connection with a pending case. The arrested individual, identified as Santhosh and residing in Thokkottu Kapikad, used to sell vegetables in the central market of the city.
Following a specific tip-off, Beltangady circle inspector Nagesh Kadri and Dharmasthala police station sub-inspector Anil Kumar D coordinated a successful operation. The accused was taken into custody from Chibidre bus stand on the evening of December 22 by head constable Rajesh, and police constables Govindraj and Yogish, all from the Dharmasthala police station.
Subsequently, the apprehended individual was presented before the fifth Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court in the city, where he was granted bail.
