Kundapur: Illegal sand transportation foiled – Vehicle confiscated, driver escapes

Kundapur, Dec 28: In a swift operation conducted early in the morning on December 27, Gangolli police station's assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Manjunatha, along with personnel Nagaraja and Rama, successfully traced and intercepted a Tata Ace vehicle on Dakuhitlu Ringroad near Gangolli. The vehicle was found to be transporting sand illegally.

Upon spotting the police, the driver of the Tata Ace managed to escape from the scene. However, the law enforcement team confiscated both the vehicle and approximately half a unit of sand that was being transported. Further investigation revealed that the accused, identified as Gururaja Kharvi, had allegedly stolen the sand from an undisclosed location with the intention of selling it to others.
