Brahmavar: 27th death anniversary of servant of God, Fr Alfred Roche observed

Brahmavar, Dec 28: The 27th death anniversary of Fr Alfred Roche was observed at Holy Family Church, Brahmavar. Holy priest Fr Alfred Roche OFM Cap fondly known as Amcho Padryab, was the first person of the newly-carved Udupi diocese to be declared as 'Servant of God' by Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo on August 15, 2021 at the Holy Family Church, Brahmavar.

Fr Charls Furtado OFM Cap, the director of capuchin seminary at Moodubelle, presided over the Holy Eucharistic celebrations and preached the Word of God, while Fr Santa Lopez OFM Cap the vice-postulator, Fr Rohan Lobo, OFM Cap, Fr Patrick Crasta OFM Cap, Fr Frolic Fernandes OFM Cap, Fr Dancy Martis were present on the occasion

Fr Santa Lopez OFM Cap the vice-postulator on the occasion expressed his happiness regarding attending the commemoration mass. Parishioners from Barkur, Kallianpur, Sasthan and attended the mass. He also expressed his gratitude to all the benefactors and donors. He also said that the year 2024 shall be the birth centenary of Fr Alfred Roche where in various programs shall be held in different places.

On the occasion, the new calendar 2024 was released by Fr Charls Furtado. Organizers distributed the new calendar 2024 free of cost to all who attended the holy mass.

A short prayer service was held in the adjacent cemetery in front of the burial place of Fr Alfred Roche. Fr Dancy Martis led the prayer service.
