Sullia: Bike mows down elderly pedestrian crossing road

Sullia, Dec 29: A pedestrian crossing the road was killed as a bike hit him at Jalsoor in the afternoon on December 28.

The deceased is identified as Purushothama Gowda (71), a resident of Bellippady Devaragunda of Delampady village. He is survived by wife and son.

Purushothama was crossing the main road near the forest check post at Jalsoor when a bike coming from Puttur end hit and knocked him down. He received severe injuries on his head.

Initially he was taken to Sullia hospital and was administered first aid. Purushotham succumbed as he was being taken to Mangaluru for higher medical treatment.
