Mangaluru, Dec 29: Three individuals from Chikkamagaluru, on a visit to the Ullal Dargah, tragically drowned in the Arabian Sea. While two were fortunate enough to be rescued by vigilant lifeguards, one of them, Salman (19), lost his life despite efforts at the hospital. Meanwhile, the search continues for Basheer (23), the third member, who remains missing in the sea.
Nayaz Ahmed, a resident of Ayyappa Nagar in Chikkamagaluru district, near Ayyappa Temple, along with his son Saif Ali, daughters Asma, Asiya, son-in-law (Asma's husband) Bashir, grandchildren Rifa Fatima, Muhammad Faraz and sister's son Salman had visited the historic Ullal Dargah on Thursday.
On Thursday evening the family had gone to Ullala beach from Dargah and returned without taking a bath as it was dark. The mishap occurred when Nayaz Ahmed's family went to Ullala Beach on Friday for a dip in the sea. It was during their playful activities in the water that a formidable wave engulfed all three, leading to the tragic incident.
