Mangalore, Sep 10: A day after the news of actor Darshan assaulting his wife Vijayalaxmi made headlines, a similar case occurred on Saturday September 10 in Mangalore, but in a reversal of roles. Much to the amusement and shock of passerby at Balmatta here, a woman chased her husband and caught him with his ‘girlfriend’ and even assaulted her.

A businessman, father of two kids, had come all the way from Manipal to meet his girlfriend who is basically from Kochi and is a lecturer in the city. It is gathered that she is his relative and had even stayed at his house a few years ago. Since then, the wife began doubting her husband's fidelity and phone calls from the girl at odd hours to the man made matters worse.

On Saturday, the wife came to Mangalore with the kids and tracked him down with his girlfriend and reportedly harassed her on the street, even tearing her clothes. Public gathered around in no time, some out of curiosity and others with concern, and informed the police who rushed to the spot. Kadri police then took them to the station and tried arriving at a compromise.

However, initially the husband said he was being tortured by his wife everyday and denied any such relationship with the other girl and claimed that she was only a good friend. He had helped her in her education which his wife was aware of, he said. Even the girl denied any relationship.

Later, the family members of the businessman came to the police station and pleaded with the police to settle the case with a compromise. They also pleaded with the media persons to keep their names anonymous as it was a matter of reputation.

No case was registered in the police station.

Nobody knows the exact issue.. its a very sensitive private issue. we cannot blame the guy alone. Just having 2 kids does not guarantee a happy life forever. So many minor issues and misunderstandings happen daily in married life. So only those two can tell.. we cannot judge and comment.

See these are the common problems (external relation) arises after a few years of marriage if we let it happen, I dont think the act of wife will help her to solve d dispute in the relation, Even we cant suggest anyone wat to do & wat to not in dis type of situations, but I feel no couples getting married with d intension of spoiling it, But we need to take care not to give chance to our partners to get influenced with d situations, I think we can do that... In this family's case wife shouldn't allowed the girl to stay in her home. I think there she done the mistake. Finally i wish this shouldn't happen in any ones life.

The only comment I liked is from Amul Mangalore. Before we judge others, let's judge ourselves. Secondly does any one knows the real fact why the husband had to do such a thing? Does anyone knows about his family life? That is the other side of the coin we should be looking in to. After all, we are all human beings.

    Shame on these people.
This is the dirty and illicit life, what our TV serials teach us.
No wonder they are so much popular with our people including our women folk.
Human beings are no better than animals in the present world.
Life is based on animal instincts to many.

I feel sorry to see majority of the comments. Actually, what the wife did was absolutely correct. That  husband has a beautiful family with two little children and still having illicit affair!! He should have been smashed then and there only. It seems he does not have sisters!

I salute the wife who in all fairness need justification. She is a good lady and therefore, she could not bear that pain of her man with someone's arms.

"Height of the heat" Wife's action can at best be explained like this. It shows the strained relationship between the couple. Nothing gained by making this such a public nuisance. Family reputation is ruined. Relationship between a man and woman can be quite complicated at times. In this civilized world, such incidents are quite common and the Govt. has provided ways to solve them. Husband and wife should have sat together, discussed the matter and taken necessary action. Eventually it has come to the same thing but in a bitter way. "Ibbara jagala mooraneyavana adaaya." Shame and discredit apart.

Whenever we are at fault, we blame at TV Shows, Society, Politics, Media or others...
Human in nature is not perfect...
Hereafter can we comment some good Ideas to solve others problem...
In this case a businessman would have taken his wife with him to visit his friend (Lecturer). Then it would have been a family friend.

Woman first of all let me congratulate you for doing the wright thing in public. i can understand the mental trauma the lady and the two little angels must have undergone.Public should have booted the businessman and the lecturer. Ruing somebody's life it is not a joke some must have felt like a drama, but i too know the pain coz mine was a similar case.Just think over what moral that lecturer must be giving to the innocent students??? Shame on u lecturer cant u find a bachelor why do want a experience man in ur life?? Please allow them to live a happy life i m sure god will forgive u for what u have done the let the family be together.

Assaulting in public for whatever reason is being uncivilized. These issues can be sorted out within the 4 walls of their house. You cant clap with one hand. If the man is happy with his girl let him live his life rather than force him and keep him in the marriage.

Let me remember a film scenary: a wife rode a taxi to the place where her husband was in the arms of his paramour, and in revenge, sought the arms of taxi driver. Perhaps this woman also could have done a similar scenary and taught lesson to the husband rather than creating a public scenary.

    Dear Charles D'Mello Pangala,

Woman have long term memory and men have short-term memory. His wife (as well as his GF) will remember this incident for a long time, and even if the marriage has to improve, the wife (any lady) will bring this incident up at the slightest argument and harass the poor fellow even when he is 90 years old.

Some wise man had long ago said: A woman seeks many things from one man a man seeks only one thing from many women".

Ferocios wife and shameless husband make public nuisance. Police should take strict action against the erring couple. It cannot be presumed the girl doing the mistake since she is at her liberty to live life. Nobody has any right to harass the helpless. Though wrong, I pity her. Husband wife relationship should be restricted to bedroom only not a drama like this.
